Biography

Brynja Davis is an assistant professor of Speech-Language Pathology at Andrews University. She graduated from Andrews University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in speech-language pathology and audiology. In 2000, she received a Master of Science in speech-language pathology from Loma Linda University in California. In 2021, she completed a Doctor of Philosophy degree in communication sciences & disorders from Wayne State University in Detroit.

Before coming to Andrews in 2006, Dr. Davis served as a speech-language pathologist in Reykjavik, Iceland, where she was born. She was also a speech-language pathologist in public schools in Michigan and worked in home health care, where she evaluated and treated adults with speech-language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Dr. Davis loves working with both children and adults, as each brings unique perspectives and challenges to speech therapy sessions, enriching her clinical experience and professional fulfillment.

Research interests

Research interests in the area of Education include metacognitive learning strategies and promoting student engagement and interaction in the higher education classroom.  She also has research interests in voice health awareness with teachers and occupational voice users and the potential risk for voice disorders.
