Biography
Dr. Rubén Muñoz-Larrondo is a Professor of Biblical Studies who teaches New Testament, Greek classes and specializes in biblical hermeneutics. He served as a district Pastor for ten years before receiving his PhD from Vanderbilt University. Pastor Muñoz-Larrondo is the program Director for the online Spanish Ministry Certificate and General Editor of the series of textbooks, of which three have already been published by the Department of Religion.
In addition, he has published a book on the Acts of the Apostles, and has written book-chapters in commentaries, and has presented numerous scholarly papers. He is currently editing the next three Spanish Series textbooks, including his Handbook of Hermeneutics and Exegesis.
He loves to organize, teach, and travel on the Bible Lands Study Tour, which provides students the opportunity to learn at biblical sites.
Research interests
He has published the book A Postcolonial Reading of the Book of the Acts of the Apostles with Peter Lang and has articles and presentations on hermeneutics. He also wrote a commentary on Acts of the Apostles for the forthcoming Latino/a Commentary of the New Testament (LCNT). As Program Director for the Online Spanish Ministry Certificate, he is currently working on the publication of A Manual of Hermeneutics and Exegesis in English and Spanish. In addition he serves as the co-editor of one of the volumes of the forthcoming Online Certificate textbooks, Introducción al Nuevo Testamento.
Rubén is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, the Adventist Society for Religious Studies , a Fellow of the Hispanic Theological Initiative, Princeton, NJ., and the past president and founder of CHADT, Centro Hispano Adventista para el Diálogo Teológico, a community of professors and pastors fostering theological dialogue among Adventist Hispanics.
