Abstract

"Ellen White encouraged E. J. Waggoner and A. T. Jones in their preaching of the righteousness of Christ because they set the right emphasis, even though she did not necessarily agree with them in every detail. She believed that God gave them a special message for the church in 1888, yet she also stressed that they were certainly not infallible. She did not view their message as "new light" but as something that she had tried to make believers aware of since 1844--"the matchless charms of Christ.'"
