Andrews University Wind Symphony Christmas Concert

On Saturday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m. at the Howard Performing Arts Center, the Andrews University Wind Symphony, under the direction of Byron Graves, will perform its annual holiday concert. This year’s concert, “Christmas Through the Looking Glass,” will feature imaginative transformations of Christmas melodies such as the “Nutcracker Suite” and “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year."

The Wind Symphony will begin the concert with a performance of “Holst Winter Suite” arranged by Robert Smith. Next, they will play “Away in a Manger,” arranged by Julie Giroux, and “The Eighth Candle” by Steve Reisteter. The Wind Symphony will perform the “Suite” from “The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky before the intermission.

Following the intermission, the Wind Symphony will present “The Most Wonderful Time of The Year,” arranged by John Moss, and “Jingle Bells Fantasy” by John Wasson. They will perform “Somewhere in My Memory,” by John Williams and arranged by John Moss, “Midnight Sleighride” by Prokofiev and arranged by Tom Wallace, and “Minor Alterations” by David Lovrien. The final piece will be “Encore: Christmas & Sousa Forever” arranged by Julie Giroux.
